My Story

My name is Annarose, and I am a survivor of sexual assault.

In August of 2020, I was sexually assaulted by someone who I thought was my friend. I felt like I was stripped of my autonomy, my voice and my strength. I immediately sought help through therapy and was diagnosed with chronic post traumatic stress disorder. In November 2020 I filed a police report with the Tucson Police Department and in February 2021 my abuser was arrested on one count of sexual assault and one count of kidnapping, but was released within 24 hours due to COVID capacity limits.

Since my experience, it has become my mission to raise awareness and educate others on the impact of sexual violence. If you would like to learn more about my experience and healing journey, click the button below to continue.

There’s nothing I would change about your presentation. Your story hits us hard since it was on our campus, and a lot of us have heard or been around similar situations. I thought it was amazing how you told us how we should respond to one of our friends coming to us about something, as it’s way more common than people think.
